Death of Queen Elizabeth II

We do know how much the Queen Elizabeth took a large place in your heart. I would even say also in the French people heart.

C’est très attentionné de votre part d’envoyer ces photos, que je demanderai à George Pickburn de mettre sur les réseaux sociaux de la FVTA.
J’ai été collé à la télévision la plupart du temps depuis lundi après-midi, lorsqu’il est devenu clair que la reine était malade et qu’elle arrivait peut-être à la fin de sa vie. Il y a eu une vague nationale et internationale de chagrin, mais aussi une grande sympathie pour le roi Charles et la famille royale qui ont perdu un membre de la famille très aimé.
Nous sommes si nombreux à avoir été dans cette position et à comprendre leur chagrin. Le retour du roi Charles au palais de Buckingham a été remarquable car sa voiture s’est arrêtée devant les portes et lui et sa femme ont marché le long des barrières, parlant aux gens et se serrant la main avant de regarder les fleurs laissées sur les balustrades du palais. Je suis sûr que cela aura été diffusé à la télévision française aussi.
Le discours du roi Charles à la nation, télévisé hier soir, était à la fois très émouvant et instructif. Ce matin, j’ai regardé la traditionnelle acclamation du roi séculaire, télévisée pour la première fois.
Quelle semaine! La reine a rempli ses fonctions, recevant l’ancien premier ministre, puis recevant le nouveau premier ministre avec son sourire radieux, mais moins de deux jours plus tard, elle était décédée. Depuis lors, nous avons vu tant de moments historiques télévisés pour la première fois.

Fareham Proclamation

The Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Mike Ford, read the Proclamation of King Charles in West Street, Fareham on Sunday 11th September 2022. Here is the text of the Proclamation:

“Whereas it has pleased Almighty God to call to His Mercy our late Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth the Second of Blessed and Glorious Memory, by whose Decease the Crown of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is solely and rightfully come to
The Prince Charles Philip Arthur George:
We, therefore, the Lords Spiritual and Temporal of this Realm and Members of the House of Commons, together with other members of Her late Majesty’s Privy Council and representatives of the Realms and Territories, Aldermen and Citizens of London, and others, do now hereby with one voice and Consent of Tongue and Heart publish and proclaim that The Prince Charles Philip Arthur George is now, by the Death of our late Sovereign of Happy Memory, become our only lawful and rightful Liege Lord Charles the Third, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of His other Realms and Territories, King, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith, to whom we do acknowledge all Faith and Obedience with humble Affection; beseeching God by whom Kings and Queens do reign to bless His Majesty with long and happy Years to reign over us.

Given at St. James’s Palace this tenth day of September in the year of Our Lord two thousand and twenty-two.
