Thirty Eight members attended the Association Annual General meeting held at 7pm on Saturday 18 January 2020 in the Church Hall at Holy Trinity Church in Fareham. The meeting was attended by Mayor Pam Bryant (who is also an Officer of the Association) and Mayoress Mrs Louise Clubley.

The Association Committee had decided to recommence the issue of membership cards; they were distributed at the meeting.

Representatives of the Table Tennis, Sailing, Medical, and Conversation Groups gave a short report on the year’s activities and exchanges.
After the formal meeting had been concluded, our traditional raffle was held, though this resulted in some administrative difficulties for the Mayor as the tickets from a previous raffle had been left in the tombola machine!

A tongue-in-cheek motion to ‘impeach’ the Mayor was ruled unconstitutional by the Chair. A subsequent motion to ‘impeach’ the Treasurer resulted in a full ‘confession’ and his offer to resign which was rejected unanimously!!

After the meeting, attendees enjoyed a ‘repas’ of Soupe à l’Oignon and Tarte au Pommes, and we were entertained by a short quiz prepared by member Peter Trott – thank you, Peter. Carriages were summoned at 9.45pm.
Thanks for your comment.
