A party of Vannes residents visited in Fareham in glorious weather from Thursday 17th May to Monday 21st May 2018.

On Friday, the visitors were received in the Mayor’s Parlour for morning coffee, after which we admired the azeleas at their best in Exbury Gardens.  In the evening we enjoyed a supper at Portchester Sailing Club. The Saturday was a ‘free’day, but many took opportunities to watch the royal wedding of Harry and Meghan – or the FA Cup Final !. In the evening, we repaired to Warsash Sailing Club for an energetic Barn Dance hosted by Warsash Sailing Club, with traditional Breton dancing. The Sunday saw the party visiting the ‘Poppy Wave’ at Fort Nelson, the D-Day Museum in Southsea, and a convivial ‘Bring and Share’ Supper in Warsash.

Thank you to the Committee of the Association for arranging the programme of the visit, and to all those who hosted and helped to make the event memorable for our visitors from Vannes.
