Vannes table tennis players visited the Generation II Club in Fareham in October 2022.
Our French friends arrived on Saturday 29/10/22 on the early ferry. It was a free morning with pitch and putt at Eastney, in the afternoon.
We all met at Fareham Snooker Club that evening.
Sunday was our big day at Fareham Academy, starting with bacon sandwiches, followed by an afternoon tea. Then table tennis started with the Davis Cup competition. The main event was won by Sarah McMullen and Ian Brown. The day was finished with a BBQ and firework display
Monday found us all in Southampton where we visited a Tudor House and then the Titanic Museum.
In the evening we met for dinner at the Oast and Squire and presented trophies. A new cup was presented as well – The Charlie Childs Player of the weekend. It was won this year by Sarah McMullen, who Charlie coached as a girl and then coached her daughter, both to a very high standard.
Tuesday, early morning, saw us saying farewell to our guests at Portsmouth Ferry Port,
Our twinning still very much enjoyed by all despite missing two (Covid) years, thanks to a lot of work by Generation 2 club members especially Mike Cooksley our chairman.
